A hiatus might be coming...

posted Sunday, 17 August 2008

These days I find that I'm saving to draft and abandoning posts at a high rate. That happens when I have a lot going on in my life that I think should stay in my life and not online.

This has been one of those months.

Some of the things in the pipeline for me (and that will keep me off blog):

  • I'm still trying to sell my condo and trying to stay positive. I've listed it for $140K, but always hoped I could sell it for $154K. So I guess I need a couple people to fall madly in love with the space and get into a bidding war. I think the ideal buyer might be someone looking to expand their real estate portfolio into rentals-this is an excellent rental property. Or the parent of a Loyola graduate student who wants to take something off the worry list for their child. So close to Loyola.

  • I'll be reading Torah at Rosh Hashanah services this year. I have a lot of stuyding to do before I get in front of the entire congregation and read or chant. I hope to chant, but am trying to be realistic about my abilities.

  • I'm presenting at four non-Edelman events in the next six weeks and need to get my shit together for those presentation. I'll be doing a lunch and learn at the JUF, at this half day event for women entrepreneurs, at the Chicago New Media Summit, and at BlogOrlando. These all happen between now and Rosh Hashanah... I'm a little overwhelmed.

  • It is possible that I'll be doing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day walk in Atlanta at the end of October and representing Edelman Chicago. I find out tomorrow, but that  It will take some serious training to get fit enough that I can walk 60 miles in 3 days, plus raise at least $2200 for the cause.
So... that's what is going on with me. I might feel a little overwhelmed these next couple months. How are you?

Wow. Leah. You said a mouthful. You deserve a hiatus. I always take a blogging break when I'm feeling a little more tied to the offline world than the online. I find other ways to share online -- through social media, when I can. And usually, I'm pleasantly surprised that when I come back from hiatus, I often have the same readers, and even pick up a few new ones.

As far as bullet #4: You so can do this and it will be amazing - it will take hard work and blisters but so worth it! Just make sure you got to one of the good shoe stores that watch you walk and fit you in the right shoe! And with your online influence, raising the money should be a breeze! http://cfhusband.blogspot.com raised $4,000 in one week for Leukemia & Lymphoma socieity through blog fundraising :D

Leah! (erin's friend, beth here) - I like the line on your condo listing "concrete walls guarantee quiet times..." or something... nice to see you while I was in town! Take Care. I'll keep you posted on my challah (sp?) making adventure.
