I'm going to Israel on Thursday!
While I won't actually BE in Israel until Friday, all I can think right now is, "I'm going to Israel on Thursday!" You have to sing song it in your head like a seven year old going to Disney World. "I'm going to Israel on Thuuuuuuuuuuuuuuursday. I'm going to Israel on Thuuuuuuuuuuursday!"
I had a fantastic weekend with my parents. Good food, good coffee, new books, some Chicago touring they hadn't done before. It was a great weekend. We explored the Chicago Cultural Center, stood next to The Bean (Coud Gate), and ate Garlic Fries at the Candle Lite Diner. We all read the travel advisory together and looked at a map of Israel. After I pointed out how far away the Gaza strip is from anywhere I'm going, they were relieved.
This morning in Hebrew, my teacher and friend brought in copies of the Traveler's Prayer for me. So I'm now armed with official words to say to God when I get on the plane on THURSDAY!
Now it is just figuring how to pack for such a short trip. At just over a week, there really isn't much I need. I certainly don't need to take my big black suitcase, but at the same time need something more substantial than my weekend bag. I might stuff a duffle into my weekend bag, so I can come home with two bags but mostly travel with one.
In other news. Gray's Anatomy was good tonight. "If she doesn't love you as much as you love her, then she isn't the right one." What was Gray thinking? Seriously. What was she thinking?
