You should write a book.

Monday, 31 July 2006 7:58 P GMT-06

Where I blog...

Sunday, 30 July 2006 7:57 P GMT-06
I thought I'd do a quick round up of my actual blogs, since some of them are buried in the gutter. Here, obviously, leahj.blog-city.com began as Leah in London, then became Leah in Chicago, and is now Accidentally Jewish.  I'm too lazy to chang

Speaking up at BlogHer.

Sunday, 30 July 2006 5:54 P GMT-06
At the last session of the conference, I finally spoke up.  It had been an awful lot of listening for me.  I'm not a great networker.  I'm good with strangers--say once we are at dinner--but not when there are 700 people around a pool.

Cool, incredibly cool.

Cooper  from www.beenthereclearinghouse.com was just talking about how their blog turned into a revolution of giving and caring.

I smell like a man.

In my grand master plan of "My suitcase has it's own toiletries" I forgot one little item.  Sigh.  I forgot deodorant.  So here I am, at Blogher, sans Secret.  I went to the front desk and they gave me... Sport Stick.&nb

Loving it!

Friday, 28 July 2006 2:43 P GMT-06
Blogher is great!  I'm loving it.  Can you imagine sitting in a room with 700 bloggers?  700 women writers?  Just like me only different. I met people at both Lulu and Blurb and am starting to think more seriously about self publ

I'm FINALLY at BlogHer!

Friday, 28 July 2006 1:28 A GMT-06
I don't think I've ever actually sat on a runway for three hours before.  I don't think I've had more bad travel in one month ever in my whole life.  There was the Mexico Debacle.  The DC return from Baltimore.  And now the BlogHe

If you want to pay...

Thursday, 27 July 2006 8:12 A GMT-06
If someone wants to sponser me, I'll go.  I think I could get off work for a few days for the trip.

Off again, off again, jiggity jig.

Wednesday, 26 July 2006 11:14 P GMT-06
So I hop on a plane tomorrow evening and head to sunny (and hot) California.  It is time for BlogHer--the women's blogging conference.  Before I get on the plane, I have a report to finish.  A report that it stressing me out more than

360 Degrees in a Diner (Fiction, by Leah)

Tuesday, 25 July 2006 7:43 P GMT-06
Waitresses, bus boys, and cooks. Writers, workers, and loners. 7 booths and 12 stools at the counter. Sorry, but there is no non-smoking section here. You want non-smoking, go to Denny’s, this is a Chicago diner. Smoking is expected. You want l

Not a sore loser, just a loser

Tuesday, 25 July 2006 7:25 P GMT-06
I find it hard to write about losing.  Especially losing after being judged.  I mean, how do you not sound like a.  A Pollyanna b.  A Sore Loser or c.  Sour Grapes  And how do you write about losing when you think that t

I didn't make the final five, even though it was a final seven. Oh well.

I'm not obsessed, I'm not obsessed, I'm not... not...

Monday, 24 July 2006 8:20 P GMT-06
Okay, I totally am obsessed and I need to get over it. Tomorrow morning by 8AM central, the five finalists will be announced.  I know you haven't been living under a rock.  I know you know what I'm talking about.  The Memoirist's Coll

Two more years of PR, then I'll be Jeopardy Champion.

Monday, 24 July 2006 6:19 P GMT-06
The strange fun part about doing research as a big chunk of my job, is all the trivia I learn over the course of a year.  I figure two more years like this last one and I'm so gonna be the Jeopardy Champ. The Memoirist's Collective will be anno

I am happy to report that last night included not getting busted by the cops.  Instead of a party that "is going to be totally awesome" turning out to be "not so great" we stayed in, drank some sangria, watched the news, play

If you are here because I emailed you and you don't know me, thanks for checking this out.  Sorry for the mass email. Really sorry. And very embarassed about the whole--emailing every URJ synagogue webmaster in the country.  Really.

Must sleep, must change clothes...

Thursday, 20 July 2006 11:29 P GMT-06
But first a post. 1.  Reader's Choice has started in the Memoirist's Collective on MySpace.  I hate to shill, but I really want to be in the top five.  I'd love you to vote for me.  Another entrant even featured me with about 10

I will spare you all continued geeking out.  I won't spare readers of Edelman's team blog, Talkshop.

I love the Snickers campaign

Thursday, 20 July 2006 9:08 A GMT-06
My love of Snickers centers around fishing with my dad and sister.  We would go to Crystal lake with a cooler stocked with ICE COLD Coca Cola, Snickers Bars, String Cheese, and Pepperoni Sticks.  We would fish, swim, snack, fish, snack, fis

I think my internal body temperature is getting somewhere close to 115 degrees F.  It is hot in DC and the Israel Rally was in a place with no shade (and no water being passed out.)  That's the thing about DC, the whole height limit on buil

Welcome to DC

First thoughts in DC. 1. It is really hot here, too. 2.  The Metro stations seemed to be seriously reinforced concrete.  It makes me think of safety from bombs.  I hate that I think that. 3.  The Edelman DC office has FREE ICE
