My books are now reshelved and I'm having popcorn for lunch. Two moments to share.
First, I was at Metropolis for coffee with a friend. I had my tallit sitting on the table and she took her prayerbeads from her purse and set them on the table. And we had coffee. It is so simple, yet so nearly impossible to imagine. Prayer shawls and prayer beads and coffee. Couldn't we just do that, huh?
I got to shul late, but was the 10th person. It is always a good feeling to count towards a minyan when there are only ten. After taking the Torah from the Ark and walking it around the shul, when my Rabbi got to me he said, "Can you say Torah blessings?"
"Yes." I got them mostly right, by my bat mitzvah I'll get them right.
A Shabbes spend organizing a bookshelf? You madam, are fantastic. I am pro
anything that involves cleaning or organizing. In some other universe, I
must surely do that sort of thing for a living.
