I totally agree! As someone who married a non-Jew, I have to say that it's
been fine. We are raising our kids Jewish (they do get a Christmas tree,
but I enjoy that as well). My son had a bris (by an orthodox rabbi) and my
daughter had a naming ceremony. If your partner loves you, he will respect
your love for your religion.
Look for someone who shares your beliefs and values, and most of all
someone who really loves you and you love him. If you find him, he'll
either be Jewish, or if not, he'll be respectful of your choice. That being
said, and with the new year coming up, why not try just one more year of
jewish dating? Shana Tova!
foodmomiac - the one thing that makes me really want to date/marry a jewish
guy is having the extended support system of Jewish in-laws. Not that my
family isn't supportive, but I'd like a little more Jewish knowledge around
the holidays.
